Swimming clubs, local community groups and local residents are being asked for their comments on the proposed plans for an olympic-sized swimming pool in the heart of Ladywood.

The swimming pool and leisure facility is earmarked for land next to Nelson School on St Vincent Street, next to the National Indoor Arena.

A consultation document has been circulated to community groups, while local residents will soon have the opportunity to have their say.

The draft proposals can be viewed at Nelson School (King Edward's Road, Ladywood, B1 2PJ) on Wednesday 3rd and Friday 5th of June, between 4pm and 8pm, and Saturday 6th June between 10am and 2pm.

Local Ladywood resident and Liberal Democrat campaigner David Nikel said, "Many things have been written in the media, both positive and negative, about the proposed swimming pool. Now that the draft plans are available, I would encourage all local residents to take a look at the proposals for themselves and let us know what they think."
