Be Heard10.28.00pm GMT Sun 15th Nov 2009 A new service has been launched to bring together information on local consultations, what people have said and what impact their views have had on decision-making in Birmingham. Councillor Paul Tilsley, Leader of Birmingham's Lib Dem Council Group, said: "Listening to the voice of local people as part of our decision-making processes must be a priority for the city." "The Be Heard consultation database is a valuable new resource for members of the public to find out what impact their views have in helping to improve public services." The Birmingham Be Heard consultation database at www.birminghambeheard.org.uk has been developed for Be Birmingham, the city's strategic partnership. It currently contains over 170 consultations undertaken by Birmingham City Council and other partner organisations and this number will grow all the time. The database includes both large, city-wide consultations as well as smaller, more specific area or interest-based consultations. Information can be found through a keyword search or searches by area, date, consultation method, type of people consulted and the organisation that ran the consultation. People can also sign up to receive automatic email alerts when consultations that they are interested in have been published or subscribe to an RSS feed. Related Links:
